Show/Hide PCL: Hide Point Clouds in Revit with One Click

By

A point cloud is great to model from, but it slows navigation and hides your model when you want to check it. Show/Hide PCL lets you hide point cloud in Revit with one click, and show it again with the next.

Show/Hide PCL to hide point cloud in Revit

Why hide point cloud in Revit with a button

  • Faster views. Without the scan, zooming and panning are smoother.
  • Check your model. See what is modeled and what is missing.
  • One click instead of many. No need to open Visibility/Graphics each time.

Steps

  1. Open the view.
  2. Click Show/Hide PCL (Zeta BIM tab › Visibility).
  3. All point clouds in the view are hidden. Click again to show them.

Add a keyboard shortcut

  1. Go to View › User Interface › Keyboard Shortcuts.
  2. Search for Show/Hide PCL.
  3. Type a shortcut, for example PP, click Assign and OK.

Good to know

  • It works per view; other views keep their own setting.
  • If a view template controls point cloud visibility, change the template instead.
  • The scan is only hidden, not unloaded or removed.

FAQ

Is it the same as unloading the point cloud?
No. Unloading frees memory for the whole project. Show/Hide PCL only hides it in the current view, so you can bring it back at once.

Can I hide CAD the same way?
Yes, with Show/Hide CAD.
