Cleanup ZetaBIM Data: Remove Helper Data from Your Revit Project

By

Cleanup ZetaBIM Data – Revit project cleanup

Before you hand a model over, it should contain only what the client needs. Cleanup ZetaBIM Data makes Revit project cleanup quick: it lists the helper data ZetaBIM tools created and removes it in one step.

What the Revit project cleanup tool does

While you model, some ZetaBIM tools add helper data to the project, such as Cloud Images and ZetaRefPoint reference points. Cleanup lists all of it in one place so you can remove it before delivering the model. Your own model elements are never listed.

Why clean up before delivery

  • Lighter files. Cloud Images are large pictures; removing the ones you no longer trace over keeps the project small and fast to open.
  • A clean model for the client. Reference points and tracing images are working aids, not part of the deliverable.
  • Nothing missed. Helper data can sit in many views; the list shows all of it, including items that are no longer placed anywhere.

Steps

  1. Click Purge › Cleanup ZetaBIM Data (Zeta BIM tab › Manager).

  2. Tick the items to remove. Use All or None to change the whole list.

  3. Click Delete. A message shows how many items were removed.

What is listed

Type What is removed
Cloud Image The image and every placement of it in your views. Placed in shows the views that use it.
Ref Point The ZetaRefPoint family together with all its points in the model. Placed in shows how many points there are.

Pinned items are unpinned and deleted. Everything is removed in one step, so a single Undo brings it all back.

Good to know

  • A Cloud Image is recognized by its name. If you renamed it, it is no longer listed.
  • Deleting a Cloud Image here does not delete the PNG file on disk.
  • If nothing is listed, the project contains no ZetaBIM helper data.
